I think your question is if you bite on the restoration, will biting force damage the restoration? If occlusal loading is optimally managed, tooth preparation is well designed, and technician's fabrication skill is optimal, the chance of breaking laminate is less likely. However, we are just not able to guarantee the longevity of service no matter how careful we do the job.
Thanks for the reply! I'm leaning towards a veneer...and I am hoping that I can get one and not have to lose a lot of the tooth.
Can you still bite into sandwiches, pizza etc. with a veneer on a front tooth?
Both porcelain laminate veneer and ceramic crown can yield satifactory cosmetic result. The final outcome depends on clinician's skill. With regard to ceramic crown, there are two types, one is porcelain fused to metal and one is full ceramic crown.PFM has been in the market for more than 50 years, with good reputation in terms of durability and fitness. Full ceramic crown yields more transparency and a little bit more vivid looking.
