Crown that smells and taste bad

I had a crown put in at about a year ago.  This crown started tasting and smelling bad. I went back to my dentist and explained the condition.  She sent me to the gum specialist who found nothing wrong but still did a deep cleaning.  After 3 days, the smell and bad taste came back.  I called my dentist and told her.  She asked to come in.

She removed the crown, desinfected the area and replaced the it with a non metal one.  Two or three weeks after, here I am with the same problem.

What could be happening with this area.  I don't think my doctor knows what to do anymore.

Thank you for your help.

it might not be the crown. if the dentists cant smell the odor with their face up close especially when the crown was removed. my friend had a similar problem and it ended up being a sensory issue that needed a neurologist.
