Curing Geographic Tongue

by USA_Dude, Sep 16, 2009 09:42PM
My GT started about 2 years ago (at age 32) when I was under a lot of stress at work and started sleeping very poorly for months. For a long time, I had no clue of what this 'condition' was called, but after spending much time searching the internet I finally figured it out. Unfortunately, I could not find anyone who had cured GT, so I had to experiment on myself to figure out what works. I had many many failures, but luckily found a combination of things that reduce the spreading of GT and shortened the outbreak.

Rule #1. Do NOT eat any curry or drink any wine (beer seems ok, but I avoid that too). For the combination of curry and wine causes a damn near instant outbreak.

At the start of the GT outbreak, take Nature's Bounty Vitamin B Complex Sublingual Liquid and  drop a few drops on the spot on the tongue.

Next, rinse your mouth using BreathRx Anti-Bacterial Mouth Rinse and brush your teeth 3 times a day. Be sure to use a tongue scrapper afterward. Do NOT use Listerine or any alcohol based mouth rinse.

Finally, take Niacin, Iron and Vitamin A supplements as they help to papillae grow back faster.

That's it. Again, this is not a cure, but using this method I've been able to cut down the outbreak from 10 - 14 days to 5 - 6 days.

Is there any better way to shorten a GT outbreak?
