Depending on your financial situation, there are many options. Even if you don't qualify for government sponsored health/dental insurance you can get a low cost dental from WorkingToday.org. I just signed up so I can't tell you if they're good. But they have many dentists under their plan. See this link:

$22.20 a month. Not bad. If anyone knows of any other good plans out there, let me know :)
Thats was very rude! Who said he did not have a job!
thanks Higgy for the advice on a medical school thats a possibillty. Joe you obviously are having trouble getting good medical help Ive been down that road many times in the last 9 years, had an HMO ins. up to 3 years ago and had a huge problem getting good follow thru with Drs. besides sustaining serious injures in my earlier days from active sports life and dangerous careers, in 97 I developed an iLLness and had a very difficult time with Drs. I learned phrases from drs. like (I cant do any more as thats all your ins. will allow) (Your ins. doesnt pay me enough to do any more) and one from a new jersy dr. ( I think I can help you put you will have to subsidise your ins. and it will be very exspensive) We had to drop the ins. after my wife came down with 2 serious illneses. at that point we were hanging on to 1 of our 2 profitable bussineses but we couldnt do the work and that bussines went south and then we lost our beutiful river front home of 22 years in N.Y. thank god our kids were on there own. Now we live in an old rv in the desert Our problem is we refuse to become wards of the state, we do pay our bills, the biggest of our payments are to 2 hospitals. One visit cost us 2800.00 to get a 20.00 script to help with pain but no diagnosis. Im a little off the subject but Joe I learned take someone with you and if there giving you the brush off then demand something more be done. Im sure you physicians out there might cringe as time is money. For the last 6 days Ive been on clindamyacin but it wasnt working as good as the penicilian vk Put back on the pen. Unfortunetly were all not like Micheal Jackson when he got the sniffles he went to a hospital and had a whole wing cleared of its patients and had the best drs. on duty attend to him, diagnosis was common cold. I have an apppt. with a oral sur. for consultation. Randy
Randy,
I have almost some of the same symptoms. my vision is slightly different. I have problems focusing sometimes. I have headaches, problems sleeping, tremors, neck pain, jaw pain, and sinus problems. I also have impacted lower wisdom teeth. unlike you, I have insurance. I hav been to the doctor soooo many times. I think they think I am a hypocondriac. everyone keeps telling me that there is nothing wrong with me. The eye doctor tells me that I have 20/20 vision and can't find anything wrong. My dentist sent me to an oral sergeon. he said, yep, your teeth are impacted. he said he could remove them but there was a good chance that I could have some mouth numbness for the rest of my life and sent me home. no antibiotic. I am gradualy getting worst. nobody will do anything for me. please keep us up ot date.
joe
Randy,
There are a few programs out there that can help with the financial side of things...as well as a few other options you could look into. One that I know of is called "CareCredit" and were it not for them, I would never have been able to get the root canal treatment I needed. Also, you could consider going to a dental school, where you could get treatment at a much lower cost....and the students are under supervision, so its not like your dental health is being neglected. I can tell you from experience that there is nothing more important than your health..I've recently finished several thousand dollars of dental work....and not only has it improved my smile...but many other areas in life have been improved because of it...don't rish your health because of a lack of money...there are solutions!
Has anyone suggested the possibility of a sinus infection? I don't think it it is a good idea to keep taking the antibiotic. I think you need to see an oral surgeon or an ENT doctor.
that was quite rude, he never said he didnt have a job. dental treatment is expensive and unfortunatly not everyone has that kind of extra cash.
most oral surg (if that is who will do the extraction i am guessing) dont do too many payment plans. there is something called care credit. my dentist office i worked at used it. if you get approved for a line of credit then you have so much time interest free to make those payments back. maybe your regular dentist uses this and can help you. id get that tooth out asap!!
