Daytime grinding of teeth

Recently I have begun grinding my teeth during the day. I don't know if I do at night. I've been told to put my tongue between my teeth and that will help. That's a great idea, except I also suffer from severe dry mouth and when I place my tongue between my teeth, it rubs on the inside of my lips, making the inside of my lips even more dry than they are. Any ideas what I can do (beside get rid of stress) to relieve the grinding?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
HI,
Grinding of teeth is usually a sign of stress and anxiety. Attending stress counselling, starting an exercise program, seeing a physical therapist, or obtaining a prescription for muscle relaxants are among some of the options that can be looked at.
If teeth grinding occurs during the night, your dentist can fit you with a mouth guard to protect your teeth from grinding during sleep. Consult your Dentist.
