Dental Abcess(abscess)

I have an abscess and the infection has gone down into my jaw. I have been taking antibiotics for a little over a week now and the abscess continues to grow larger and more painful. I am not sure what to do. I called several dentists and they tell me they can not touch me until the infection is gone. Is there a safe way to have it drained? I have not been able to eat in days and am getting extremely sick.

Can't touch you until the infection is gone?  That's weird.  If that's the case, I would skip the dentist and go straight to an oral surgeon for a consultation.  It sounds like the antibiotics aren't working so it may need to be changed.  I would assume that an oral surgeon (or dentist) can do an incision and drainage to remove the abscess.
