Dental Implants and pain and numbness

I waited years to be able to have dental implants placed. In 2005 I had surgery to place 7 implants.  A problem started the next day, pain, numbness and swelling. The pain was a 10, was not able to sleep and consummed no food.  After 7 more surgeries in an attempt to correct problems my mouth is still very numb and painful, it hurts to smile and stretch my lower side side of lip.  Still not able to have implant plan finished.  I have trouble speaking, and spit when I speak.  I was forced to change dentist and Oral Surgeon.  My new team are in shock, I have been told nerve damage, the pain, might not ever go away.  Need bone graft and remove two implants that can not be used, they are at angles that prevent use.  Dentures need to snap on, and that can not happen yet.  The infection after surg was big, was not able to open mouth, thought maybe I had lock jaw.  The infection was in the jaw bone and tissue.  Could not wear dentures, could not eat any food, and to this day it is now 07 still can not chew solid food.  The pain is to my chin, any thing like salt or toothpaste touch my lip, it is painful. I have been prescribed different anti depressants, different meds for pain, I am depressed, I spent 21,000. and i can not speak or eat real food. Will the pain and numbness go away, will removing the two implants on the left bottom, bring back feeling?  After surg I told Oral Surg my face is numb, why, , and he said he did not go crazy with needle when I was under, I think he figured, while I was out , under he or they can get aggressive with the needle.

I am truly sorry for your problems but it is impossible for me to give you any type of opinion without seeing you. My gut feeling and this only a guess, is that at this point I do not think the sensation will be restored. I hope you are confident with the team you are working with. Much good luck.
