Dental Prices

I belong to Ameri Plan so I called up some Dentist to try and get prices. No such luck. I live in Phoenix AZ and all I need is 2 crowns and a deep cleaning and by the time they are through with me I will be in for $5,000. So there is a place in Mexico called Los Algodones by Yuma AZ that has 350 dentist that Americans come to for hundreds of miles for a third of the price and I have talk to some of the people and they are good dentist otherwise 350 of them wouldn't still be in business. Traveling 150 miles is worth saving several thousand dollars but my nerves are bad. If you don't have Insurance your screwed and Ameri Plan isn't going to help that much. So any suggestions?

I can't vouch for the quality of dentistry out in Mexico but I have heard through conversations that the dental work isn't very good.  I, myself, don't work there nor do I go there so I can't really speak from any personal experience.  My guess is that its similar to the US, in which there are some pretty good ones and some pretty bad ones around.  The drawback is that if there's any problems, you have to go back to get anything taken care of.

Have you considered a local dental school perhaps?  Or contacting the local dental society to see what services may be available?
