Do I have nerve damage?

Do I have nerve damage?

2weeks ago I had 8 veneers fitted. When i was injected i felt the needle pierce theough something hard and it was painful. A few days later I noticed inflammation above my number 3 tooth so went back to my dentist and had an X-ray and nothing showed up so we agreed we would give it another week. In that week things to a really bad turn.. I had aching facial pain, around my eyes, on either side of my nose, over my cheeks, back teeth. Upper lip and my neck. I was convinced it was my sinuses and went to A&E. I was told that my sinuses were clear and I should go back to the dentist. I visited my my dentist today and had an X-ray again it didnt show anything and sinuses clear. My dentist tapped on my teeth and I felt tenderness on the number 3 tooth so my dentist did a root canal. It's been 10 hours now and I'm experiencing the facial pain again, so what I would like to know is do I have nerve damage???

You may want to go back to your dentist and get it checked again.  If he isn't able to figure it out, you should ask for a referral to an orofacial pain specialist or an oral surgeon.  You could also consider going to a neurologist.

So more then likely it is nerve damage?? I have just called my dentist that I use for my usual dentistry not veneers and I am going to see him for a second opinion. He said usually when you go through a nerve you get numbness not pain and the nerves tend to re connect.

Hi there, I got my second opinion.... He seemed to think I need another root canal  and that my bite isn't quite right and also the veneer needs polishing where my gum is sore because there is an over hang. He also said that it was an error to get cerec veneers because the teeth have to be cut so I'm here having major regrets because only my to front teeth had problems and now I have all these other problems!

Well, I hope that your original dentist can solve the problem.  Let me know how it goes.
