Does impacted wisdom teeth cause sinus infections?

by Amyville, Dec 25, 2005 12:00AM
Will impacted wisdom teeth cause sinus infections? I have had alot of sinus problems and When I go to the doctor they give me antibotics and it just comes back. They said it could be allergies but my jaw hurts right where my wisdom teeth are my glands in my throat stay swelled up and I have had more ear infections than I have ever had in my life. Sometimes but not always when i open my mouth it sounds like bones crunching and it will hurt then it goes away. The dentist told me that wisdom teeth doesn't cause that but he also said he didn't think I needed them cut out but I went to another dentist later on and he said I should have them cut out.

I don't think that the impacted wisdom teeth cause sinus infections but I don't like the other symptoms that you are talking about. I think the noise in the area of the TMJ should be addressed and the swollen glands should also be investigated. I hope you are getting a consult with an oral surgeon.
