Extraction 2 weeks ago, with post op pain

My tooth (Upper right-hand molar second from the last) was extracted 15 days ago. The first few days were fine with very little pain. Ibuprofen every six hours was helping with the pain, and it seemed to get less every day.  That is until the 4th day when I started to get throbbing pain, and also sharp pains and my jaw was sore. I used ice packs, and continued to take Ibuprofen. A week after the extraction I went back to the dentist, he said it sounded like dry socket, but when he looked he said the clot was still intact, but put me on antibiotics since the pain was getting worse every day. I took the antibiotics, the throbbing seemed to get better, but not the sharp pain. The pain would wake me up in the middle of the night, so the dentist gave me vicidan. I have never been able to go for more than six hours without taking Ibuprofen or the pain gets so severe that it feels like the tooth is being ripped out of my mouth again, without it being numbed first. I took ibuprofen last night, two hours before I went to sleep. This morning I woke up with my jaw and place where the tooth used to being hurting so badly, I was crying. The pain and pressure on my jaw and socket were almost unbearable. It had been about 10 hours since I took 800mg of ibuprofen. I’m wondering how long should it hurt like that? How long should I have to take 800mg of ibuprofen every six hours? How do I know when to go back to the dentists, and when I’m being a baby?

You should not be in this much discomfort. I would suggest very stongly that you get to see an oral surgeon asap.
