Extraction.. partial nerve

Alright.. Almost two weeks ago, i had my wisdom teeth extracted. The  Dr. said that he had to leave part of a nerve, to keep from causing more damage. Well, i still have this annoying tingling and after i eat.. pain. I went to my regular dentist and they put this brown goo in there and it had helped, but not as much or as good as the clover oil. My Question is... If i continue to use the oil, will the nerve or extraction site heal or will the exposed nerve... just be an exposed nerve until it's taken out? Not sure how long it will take to heal.
