I have worked in the dental field for 15yrs. I am also dental phobic(hmm go figure) I had a tooth that had a partialPartial (focal) seizure Partial thromboplastin time (ptt) Thyroid gland removal root canal 5 years ago(left open to bacteria) decay and fractureFractures across a growth plate. Half under the gumline and half hanging down, The half thats hanging is getting very abcessed. Yes I am aware of the dangers. My guys want me to see an oral surgeon but the thought of it sends me into a vertigoBenign positional vertigo Dizziness Vertigo Vertigo-associated disorders induced panicPanic disorder Panic disorder with agoraphobia attack. Ativan does not work well. They are very understanding and one even said he'd go with me. I have severe panicPanic disorder Panic disorder with agoraphobia disorder and am afraid of almost everything.Sedation is not an option, It aggrevates my arrythmia's.
I'm on my third round of clindamycin, but within days of stopping the meds the pain returns. I feel like there is no solution right now. Understand that I cannot sit in the chair at this point in time. I go into an arrythmia( I have 2, SVT, Quadgeminy, multiple PVCS) and start shaking. My teeth chatter and I feel faint.(my mom is my rock, but she is extremely sick with cancer right now and cannot come with me). I will however sit and let them grind it down(tooth keeps super erupting) without any anesthesia. My questions are :Can they open the remaining canals and clean them out to give me more time to get a grip. They said they would try just for me.I'm crying uncontrollably everyday. The thought of having anything done right now is exhausting me. It's broken in pieces and has a certain degree of mobility to it. Is there anyway an oral surgeon can remove the pieces without anesthesia in steps,or maybe drill most of the tooth out? Would topical help with the pain of an extraction? Has anyone had an extraction without any anesthesia, ever?
Are they able to clean out the remainder of the tooth(2 root tips and 2 very large distal and mesial roots(they are the troublemakers. Can I stay on antibiotics for a few months til I am mentally and physically prepared to sit in the chair?I have asked my dentists these questions but I get the same answer, get the tooth out!!!! I just can't right now. Can you get sick from too many antibiotics???? No one seems to know the answer, except that the antibiotic situation with me isn't a good solution. Can you help me????
