Fibroma

I am having a fibroma removed tomorrow on my tongue.  My DDS said it may need 1-2 stitches. How long will it take to heal?  Will I have to eat a liquid diet?

For a few days soft foods may be all you can tolerate, but you'll learn quickly what you can and cannot eat, definitely avoid spicy foods and anything acidic like fruit.  Anything in the mouth takes longer to heal but with it being stitched up that should shorten the time to maybe a week to 10 days.  I'm sure your dentist will tell you to rinse your mouth with warm salt water after eating, don't brush that part of your tongue and don't use any mouthwashes that contain alcohol.  Take care.
