Geogrphic tongue???

Hi, I've had for about 2-3 weeks white patches on the sides of my tongue, on top of it and also on the underside, they seem to appear and dissappear in almost the same place but not always with the same shape, they hardly hurt, except when I eat certain foods, and I get like a tingling or burning sensation, my question is: Could this be geographic tongue?
I also notice that they appear when I am under a lot of stress which I have been lately.

Your descriptions appear to be consistent with clinical presentation of geographic tongue or benjgn migratory glossitis.

thank you scottma, do you know, how long geographic tongue can last, because ive had it come and go for about 2 or 3 weeks now.

Since the etiology of geographic tongue is not well established, there  has been no definite treatment modality for this benign condition. However, there are certain predisposing factors identified, such as nutritional deficiency, smoking, systemic metabolc disturbance. If you are really concerned, seeing an oral medicine specialist is advised.
