Gum Disease?

Gum Disease?

Hi,

I was wondering if you could answer a question I have.  A couple days ago I went to the doctor because I had a sore throat, and I ended up having strep throat.  I recently looked at my gums in the front of my mouth and at the very top they had the same appareance as the back of my throat(whitish blots. and visible redness).  Do you know if it is common for the signs of strep throat to be this far into you mouth, or do you think that theres something wrong with my gums?  Thanks and I appreciate the help.

It is certainly possible that the strep infection could have affected your gums. You are or were probably on antibiotics so that should clear up the inflammation that is present. If the situation persists then a visit to your dentist would be in order.
