Gum Question

I had a injury to my mouth about 4 years ago and had to have my two front teeth and one just to the left root-canaled and crowned/venereed. The one tooth (left of the 2 front teeth) was cracked below the rootline and I had to have an extensive build up. My gum has never really healed up right and is always sensitive on this tooth. Lately (a week or so) I noticed that it has receded more and that when i floss ( this is hard to explain) there is now another line like my gum has split in between the teeth. You know the v shaped pink gum that comes down between each tooth. I can floss to the sides of this but also there is a cut/line up the middle. It does not hurt or bleed. I am scared that this line will cause part of the gum there to die or fall off. I will then have a hole between my teeth and only half the gum material in the v. Does that make sense? Can they stitch it up or give me a gingival graft???? I looked on the internet and only saw grafting to cover roots - not in between teeth....please help!!!!

I do understand what you are saying. Every case is individual of the next, so you may be best off seeing a periodontist to evaluate how best to treat that area.

I have a discoloration on my upper gum line around my two front teeth. The pink color is now purple. No pain or discomfort. I know this is a symptom of Hiv but that is not possible. No risk since september 05 and tested neg last month. The area around my teeth is pink and the purple color starts around 1/4 inch above the gum lime. Any advice?
