Hi,
The type of toothpaste is really unimportant, unless you have sensitivity in your teeth.

For gingivitis, the most important thing you can do is floss at least once daily and brush twice daily for at least two minutes.

Plaque hardens and forms calculus (a hard substance that is hard to remove and collects along the gumline) in approximately 12 hours.  Brushing twice a day for about two minutes each time will remove the plaque before it hardens.  Flossing is the only way to get it from between the teeth.  Not flossing is not completing your oral hygiene care.

If you already have gingivitis you MUST start to floss.  Gingivitis can become periodontal disease very quickly without proper hygiene.

It would be best to make an appt with your dentist for a complete evaluation and cleaning.
Please do get the gingivitis under control before it leads to worse problems.

Hope this helps.
Best to you,
Gellia
