Gums thickening

by meikman, Jun 25, 2006 12:00AM
My 6 year daughter had herpes stomachitisginivistis a couple of months ago.  It was very painful for her.  She lost 8 pounds as she refused to eat.  She also had strep throat at the same time.  It finally clear up.  Now her gums in front top look swollen again almost like it is thickening.  She just loss one of her top teeth and the second soon to follow (by tomorrow I would say).  Could this thickening be part of the tooth lose or could this be gum disease?

It sounds like the thickening is over the teeth that are ready to erupt. If the primary teeth have been out for awhile the tissue over the erupting teeth will become calloused for a better term and look swollen. If the teeth do not erupt in a reasonable amount of time have her seen by her dentist;.
