HELP ME I AM IN ALOT OF PAIN

I HAD A ROOT CANAL DONE 4 DAYS AGO,,,, AS OF MY SECOND NIGHT I AM WAKING EVERY1.5 -2HOURS IN SO MUCH PAIN I HAVE TO PACE THE FLOORS,,, THIS IS THE SAME DURING THE DAY..... EVERY 2-3 HRS,,, AND I MEAN UNBARABLE PAIN,,,,, I AM TAKING AN ANALGESIC, AMPICILLIN , AND 800MG IBPROFEN.  IF I AM NOT TAKING TWO TO THREE OF THESE MEDS EVERY 2-3 HRS,, I HURT SOOOO BAD I AM TEMPTED TO PULL MY OWN TOOTH,,,,{NO JOKE} I FEEL I AM OVER DOSING ON MEDS,,, AND NO RELIEVE   IS THIS NORMAL????????, OH, THEY COMPLETED THE RCT. THE SAME DAY AND FILLED IT I CANT STAND THIS PAIN ANY MORE ........ PLEASE HELP ME .......IS THIS NORMAL TO NOT SLEEP. EAT, AND POP SO MANY PILLS FOR RELIFE??? OR DO I NEED TO RETURN TO MY DENTIST?????HELP ME PLEASE........JAYNNE

I ENENDED UP AT ANOTHER DENTIST THIS MORNING, HE GAVE ME AMOXICILLIN AND VICODEN.... I STILL HURT UNBARABLY... HE SAID I HAVE A BONE INFECTION DUE TO PERFERATED. ROOT...AND BACTERIA.ENTERING...... I HOPE THIS MIGHT HELP OTHERS EXPERIIENCING SIMILAR PAIN......STILL LOOKING FOR THE WEB DR. ADVICE OR INPUT........JAYNNE

As long as the canal is thoroughly debrided and obturated , the pain and infection(if it does exist) tend to settle down as time goes by.Assuming the canal is not significantly perforated. Slight perforation is not a problem. Taking pain killer on a timely schedule is advised, instead of pain as needed(p.r.n).

Are you a dentist or endodontist Scottma?  This is not helpful advice.  What are the other options for dealing with pain that is not helped after taking four vicodin in six hours?
