Having a lisp after having a bite plate for over bite, what can I do?

I have braces and had to get a bite plate that was  cemented into the roof of my mouth and had it for 5-6 months. For that whole period of time while I had my bite plate, I had a very noticeable lisp, and it did not go away. I finally got my bite plate off 4 days ago and I still have a very bad lisp. What can I do to get rid of it quickly?
