Help, I have white gums around a temp crown

It has been 21 days since my dental procedure where I had 2 temp crowns put on.  After the procedure I noticed the gums where very sore.  They had black around the edges, where my gum line meets my temporaries.  Last week I noticed the gums were appearing to look white around the edges.  I called the dentist and said they seemed to be sore, white and irritated.  He started me on antibiotics, well now the whiteness is around both temporaries and around the adjoining teeth.  Any idea what could be happening?  I'm worried.  My dentist (since I have major dental phobia) won't work on me awake.  He says I have to be sedated for him to do anything.  I have a month and a half to wait.  Does anyone know what could be going on with my mouth?  Please help.

I have never seen your presentation in my practice. I can only guess that there is probably no infection invloved, infection generally cuses redness and bleeding. I Ischemia is generally caused by retraction cord packing, but usually transient. I assume the temporary crown might be subgingivally overcontoured or residual temporary cement is left in the gingival sulcus.

Why is the whiteness getting worse now that I am on antibiotics?  It is only around the 2 temp crowns.  No where else in my mouth,.

Oral soft tissue appearing white is generally associated with hyperkeratosis,  ischemia, or plaque accumulation. Going back to your dentist to have a follow-up exam is advised.
