How long til the swelling in lymph nodes goes down.

Does anyone know how long it takes for swollen lymph nodes in the neck to go down after an abcessed tooth was pulled? It has been one week, I still have some discomfort, pain in my neck, etc.

Hi,
Lymph nodes can take quite some time for swelling to go down.  Some may never fully go away.  The lymph node is like a little bacteria cemetery.  It harbors the dead bacteria while the body slowly eliminates them.

If they are still painful, warm compresses can help.  If they continue to be painful, a trip back to your dentist would be warranted.

Hope this helps!
My best to you,
Gellia
