How soon should I do RCT?

How soon should I do RCT?

I have big cavity filled lower right molar which recently is becoming sensitive to hot liquids. Reading other postings tells me I would need RCT. But how soon and urgently should I get it done? Can I wait to a point where pain gets alomost unbearable without risking more widespread infection or other problems. Right now, pain is NOT constant, goes away within 5-10 minutes and using a floss between the teeth also helps alleviate the pain. Money is the issue and hence my question about length of time I can safely wait.

If you a re experiencing pain, you should address the problem now.  It will never get any easier or any less expensive than it is right now.

sensitivity to hot is  sign of a nerve not doing well. sometimes they get better by themselves. when to do roo canal is an issue that is different for every tooth and every patient. keep in mind you will need possibly a post and almost for sure a crown if root canl is done. it sounds like you are in the early stages. if you develop worsening or more constant or longer lasting pan, or if you notice sensivity to tapping on the tooth lighly, root canal should be considered. swelling that can be connected to this tooth usually means root canal is needed.
