Ibuprofen and percocet

What is the maximum recommended daily dosage for ibuprofen and percocet? I have been prescribed 600mg ibuprofen and 5mg/325mg percocet. I had #31 extracted today and am continuing to have much pain even after taking the meds.
For previous extractions and dental surgeries I was prescribed 600mg ibuprofen and 5mg/500mg vicodin; that combination worked MUCH better. Am I having more pain this time because the extraction was a lower molar?
Or, does the vicodin just work better than percocet for some patients?
