Irritated gap gum

I have realized that recently the little bit of gum in between my two front teeth has been inflamed and extremely sore. I have always had a small gap which has been slowly closing over time, could this irritation be because my teeth are moving? Would it be worth a trip to the dentist or will time heal it?

I do believe that whenever your gums stay sore like that it is because plaque has gotten between the gum and the tooth surface.  That is the beginning of gingivitis.

A trip to your dentist for a cleaning is probably all you need, but it really would be worth getting it evaluated as the gum between the teeth there, once lost, won't grow back.  What forms is called a "black triangle" and gum replacement surgery would be required to cover it.  A cleaning will prevent it from getting any worse.

Please do make an appt.

My best to you,
Gellia
