Irritated mouth

Hello, I am a 30 year old female who smokes cigarettes, 1ppd. The inside of my mouth always feels irritated, the inside of my cheeks, tongue and sometimes the roof of my mouth and my tongue has a white film on the back of it. My family doctor said it isn't oral thrush that it could be from smoking or the type of toothpaste I use that could be irritating me. It feels like a burning, raw feeling. Any ideas?
Thank you

The first idea is to STOP SMOKING! The second is to see an oral surgeon! Oral cancer can certainly be caused by smoking. It is very serious. STOP SMOKING!
