I had a filling done in the back of my mouth and it was with white filling and it has already wore down.  Now I am having problems with sharp pains in my jaw under the tooth that was filled and opening my mouth on that side my jaw hurts and it sounds like it cracks when I open my mouth.  what could it be?

Seeing a dentist to rule out dental pathology and tmj specialist to rule out temporomandibular disorder is advised.
