Lip numbness and tingling

I had a fall at work over a week ago and hit my chin on the edge of a fish tank.  i broke and fractured several teeth and cut my chin open.  I needed to have my chin stitched as well.  Now i have had my stitches out my bottom lip and part of my chin are all tingling and one side of my lip has turned outwards with a kind of lump on my lip. This is making eating and talking harder. I have been told it could be some nerve damage.  i would like to know how to they fix this? What are my chances of getting the full feeling back in my lip and chin?  Also does it impact greatly on the amount of time before i receive treatment?  Thank you

The lump on your lip should resolve but you may have residual scaring in the area.I can not comment on the possibility of nerve damage without knowing the extent of the trauma to your lip.You can get your teeth fixed as long as you are comfortable having your mouth open for an extended period of time.
