Loose permanent tooth?

Loose permanent tooth?

I had a lot of fillings done last fall. I went through a period of neglect after I moved out for college, and my teeth suffered accordingly. Almost every tooth had a cavity. My dentists have lectured me, my mom has lectured me, I've lectured me.

I screwed up and I know it, is what I'm saying.

But I was really hoping we were done with the work now.

Sometime in the middle of all the work, after a round of fillings, I noticed that something on the upper left side of my mouth felt...loose. It was so minor I wasn't sure I wasn't imagining it. Just the smallest little...shifting that I would feel sometimes when I was eating. I told my dentist at the next appointment and he poked around a bit but didn't say anything. And by the time they were done and pulled their hands out of my mouth I forgot to ask. But I figured no news was good news.

But it's still happening. And what's more, a couple times before when I tried reaching in to wiggle teeth with my fingers, there was nothing loose. This morning when I did it I'm fairly certain one of them moved. Just the teeniest tiniest little bit. But then when I ran to the mirror and tried it again, nothing.

I don't know if it's in my imagination, because I've been so stressed about my teeth, or if there really is something wrong. I have gingivitis pretty bad, and I know that advanced gum disease can cause loose teeth, so maybe it's my gums getting worse despite my efforts to step up my care of my teeth.

Thing is, though, I don't have money to go to the dentist again to get it checked out. My dad's work now offers dental insurance, but no one told my parents that until after the sign up date had passed. They're going to sign up in March, but until then everything is out of pocket. They don't even have any money left in PayFlex. Not until March. And I already owe them money for the first round of dental care that I can't afford to pay them back.

So my question is, is this something that can wait until March? I mean, if it suddenly gets a lot worse and my tooth is in danger of falling out then I'd go. But since I'm not even sure it's actually loose and not in my head?

If it is something serious like gum disease, will going in now versus going in in a couple of months make a difference in the type of treatment or the price of said treatment?
