I recently had dentures put in and with the 'package' price it included these 'mini implants' for the bottom denture. From what I am reading - these are a waste of time? I was told by the 'denture dentist' that this was the newest and best resolution for people with 'compromised' medical histories, i.e. cardiac problems. Any thoughts?
you have very good advice here .. whenever, I hear about the mini implants it is always about the price.. go for the real one, they will fail..
I work in an oral and maxillofacial surgery office where we place dental implants. The surgeons I work for are worried that mini implants are being marketed as being the same as regular dental implants. This just isn't the case. Mini implants are meant to be only a temporary solution. The failure rate for minis is much, much higher than regular implants as well.
Mini implants do'nt function as well as regular implants do.
