Mouth bump

Mouth bump

I have had a small pinkish bump on the inside of my right cheek near the corner of my lips for about 5 years. I noticed it about 5 years ago - it may have been there longer. About 6 weeks ago it began to hurt. It is a low grade pain with throbbing and a slight burning sensation. It feels sort of like a small burn blister. There is no bleeding and no type of eruption. It has been the same size and color for years. In the last few weeks I have had some numbness on the outside of my cheek and tingling in my lips. I have an appointment with my dentist in about 2 weeks.  Any thoughts on what this could be?

It could be a lipoma or fibroma, both of which are benign.
