My mouth is a mess

I have a hard bump on my gum that is pretty painful.  I cannot afford to go to the dentist until my insurance kicks in about 5 mos from now.  It makes the surrounding teeth very sensitive to hot or cold.  Is there anything that I can do to help myself out until I can actually go see a dentist.  I have been taking some anti-biotics that I had here at the house but I will run out today.

You should contact your dentist or insurance carrier to find out what their policy on emergency treatment is.  They may cover the emergency visit but not any definitive treatment until your probation period is over.  

I would think it be best to address the issue with a dentist as soon as possible.  You may even consider contacting your local dental society to see what dentist may offer free emergency services in your area that may be able to help you until your insurance starts.

Have you looked into health benefits until your insurance kicks in? I know of a very inexpensive health benefits company that you could go with till your insurance is valid. $20.00 a month for the entire family!
