Nerve Damage Trigmenal..After filling and root canal

I had a filling on my back molar afterwards experienced extreme pain by ear, ear aches, scalp sensitivity. etc..I posted a question a week or so ago was advised it may be occlusual interference. Went back to the main dentist looked at tooth stated it did not need a root canal it was just a broken tooth big filling , however on the tooth two places up had a large cavity he could not fill it needed a root canal and that should take away all my pain. I told him I felt my bit was off could not bring my teeth together anymore, so he looked back at the big molar with the filling and adjusted the bite, by shaving it down a bit instead of removing the filling. Had a root canal on 6/24.. initial symptom are still there! Should I have the filling removed? Should I see a Neuro Dr? Another Dentist or Endo ???I don't want to return to the office, I feel they just not listening and making things worse! I want to sue them actually, but of course I need another party to verify. PLEASE HELP.. I can't live on Motrin for the rest of my life and my quality of life is bring disrupted

Removal of new filling may not solve your TMD symptoms, however, it's with a try because removal of filling  is a quick and simple procedure. You TMD symptoms have been present for a long time, occlusal interference of new filling is probably the last straw that trigger the CNS response. All TMD symptoms are mainly CNS dysfunction of pain processing. Tmj specialist can help relieve symptoms by fabricating occlusal appliance Ina short period of time. Seeing a competent and experienced tmj specialist is advised.

Hi Scott, Thanks, I see what you mean but do you think I need to have that initial filling removed?? All of this started after I had that one. Is it possible a nerve was irritated from that. It is a BIG filling, the tooth was broken, but he said he saw no infection and it was not dark so there was no root canal at this time. I only ask because I have read soo many stories about this but I know every one is unique. Also how doe this happen just all of a sudden?  Even if I see a TMJ specialist they can't help me with dental work right? Or can they advise on my bite?  I still have to get a crown on that root canal at some point

Your symptoms are partial presentations of temporomandibular disorders,. Scalp sensitivity is generally not included in TMDs. It's probably a referred pain or phenomenon of Myofascial trigger point pathology of sternocleidomastoid muscle. Occlusal interference is not considered an etiologic factor at present. However, occlusal therapy is highly effective for relieving TMD symptoms. Root canal treatment is probably futile for tmd. Seeing a tmj specialist is advised.
