New Crown Discomfort

by jihan21, Feb 04, 2008 04:14PM
Hi There,

I had two new crowns put in on Friday, February 1, 2008. These were replacements of old crowns. They are on my two upper front teeth. The right tooth is giving me pain and I can move it a bit if I press it with my tongue. If I touch, it (Not Press) with my finger is also hurts. I called the dentist the next day and he said it was normal, but it has now been 4 days. Is this normal? How long will it take the crown to tighten?

Thanks in advance,
JiHan (Los Angeles)

This is not normal and should be investigated.

go back and ask for an xray.  it is normal for some sensitivity, but not for the tooth to be mobile at all.  Get your dentist to check the bite and make sure they take an xray.
