I have never heard of anything like this before, and wondered if it is true or not. I cannot afford to get another unit like this done for a very long time. So do you think that my gums will adjust to these crowns or not?
Please hurry to answer me, as I will be seeing the dentist in 4 days!
Well.. IF the space you are seeing is the metal collar of the crown, then it's okay..BUT if you can feel a 'dip' or an actual 'space' between the crown and gums, that MAY be potential spotBirthmarks - pigmented Liver spots Measles, koplik spots - close-up Mongolian blue spots for infections. If i were you, I'd ask the Dr. to 'doubleDouble-tussin dm check the margins, because you don't want any leakage'. I'm sure he'll probably wonder where you got that from, so you can just tell him that you 'read something about it on the internet'... If you use the words like 'margins' he'll know you are kinda knowledgable about it.
Thanks for your comments, BUT, ....I can "see" a margin between my teethBroken or knocked out tooth Dental care - adult Dental x-rays Development of baby teeth Development of permanent teeth Plaque and tartar on teeth Teething Teething symptoms Toothaches and gums! Crown, space, gum. Not just the metal collar that you are suggesting. The thing is, is that they are my front teeth, and the crowns are metal fused to porcelain. So I thought that they would come up to the gum, and maybe within time, ....IF my gums receded, THEN I would see the collar of the crown. Not when I first put them on. Understand?
I guess my question is, WILL my gums come down or adjust to the crowns like they said they would? Or are they just being lazy?
I don't want to go through putting these crowns on (painful) permanantely, and then find out that my gums aren't adjusting and have to do it all over again. Sigh.. What a mess!

Please let me know if this is normal?
