Numbness after bad root canal, tooth extraction

I posted a question a week ago about how my grandmother had a bad root canal which resulted in severe pain and continuous numbness afterward. I forgot to mention before that too much filler was used for the root canal. She had the tooth pulled four days ago, and continues to experience numbness in her chin and lower lip.  Is that normal? Could something still be wrong? If so, who should be consulted?

Your grand mother is probably having a condition known as traumatic trigeminal neuropathy. Seeing an orofacial pain specialist or neurologist is advised. Current evidences suggest that early intervention of pharmacologic management is beneficial to resume normal nerve function.
