Oral thrush and mouth ulcers

This is a crazy situation, but I'll try to make it clear. Appx. 5 mo. ago, I developed oral thrush and ulcers on my tongue. I also had a yeast infection. Of course, I had a pap smear taken as my dr. examined the yeast infection. Bloodwork was drawn.My dr. ruled out stds. I did find out that I now have hypothyroidism though. The pap smear was normal.I was placed on Duflican and Magic Mouthwash.The yeast infection went away, but not the oral thrush and ulcers.After three rounds of Duflican and Magic Mouthwash, I still have it.The dr. said that I might have been misdiagnosed and that it wasn't an anti fungal problem. I was given another Rx for some kind of mouthwash having to do with allergies. Didn't work. I've been trying what some say Dentists use. I put 5 drops of tea tree oil in water and use it twicw a day.It hasn't helped. Is there another home remedy that I can try besides Genitian Violet? I don't want to have to paint my tongue violet and discolor my teeth.There's got to be a better way. Thanks for ANY advice.

Not being able to diagnosis this without seeing you, my suggestion is that you consult an oral pathologist. These professionals can be located in association with a teaching hospital.

Did they do a CBC when they took your blood?  Complete Blood Count?  I am assuming they did since they did hypothyroid but I would make sure.

My DD had mouth sores in her mouth for several years.  Some called them canker sores.  She insisted they were not. When she was finally able to find a doctor that would up her thyroid med they went away.  I found somewhere a long time back that hypothyroid patients have something in their system, or an imbalance, that causes this for them.  If you can, I suggest you try having the doctor up your med just a bit.  She went from 100mcg to 112 and that's all it took.
