PARTIAL NUMB LIPS AND LEEFT CHEEK TWITCH

I went to a dentist in October to have 2 root canals. The first one was done on my front tooth and it went well. The crown however was hideous and had to be removed by another dentist and replaced. The same first dentist started the second root canal. She could not get to the nerve and just filled the tooth. She did not tell me this. Another dentist that took her place told me and was going to do the crown anyway. I refused to have it done. The dentist that replaced the first crown told me that I should have it done if not either way I will have problems later.  Since then I had gum treatments and recently a filling on another front tooth. The filling was done without Novocaine and she filed the tooth down to fill a gap.  Since this was done, I have had a off and on some numbness. The past weekend I had a cluster headache on the right side of my head. I had taken a nap and woke up with all of my teeth hurting. Sunday, my top and bottom lip on the left side was numb and I had a nervous twitch in my left cheek near my bottom lip. I called the doctor Monday morning and called the dentist. The dentist wanted to see me immediately. She said that it was TMJ and gave me a prescription for a steroid and codeine to help me sleep. She fit me for a mouth guard. I am going to the primary this week also since the dentist stated that I may need a neurologist. I need to know if all this may have been caused by the dental work. I thought I was having a stroke because she said that my lip was drooping on the left but I did not see it .Will the steroids help. I take them for 6 days.
