Pain after retainer partially popped off 1.5 years ago.

Lower retainer popped off tooth next to right canine, has been pulling on the middle front tooth (R), now pain with tooth next to canine on the Left side. Also in the gumline (back of tooth, under tongue) has something popping out, it is soft and hasn't broken through the skin yet - is it the nerve? Please help :o) Serious answers only. Thank you. Also, will taking the retainer off get that tooth and nerve back to where it should be or is it damaged?

okay, thanks, I called my general dentist and left a message tonight.  I'll call the ortho tomorrow.  It's been 14 years since I had my braces off so I'll have to find a new ortho.
Thank you so much for your time.
