Pain almost 3 Weeks after Upper Left Wisdom Tooth extracted

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me I had my Upper left Wisdom Tooth out almost 3 Weeks ago, just by normal extraction & I am still suffering with pain.  I get earache in my left ear & pain behind my left eye, and when the pain comes on my teeth feel weird like I need to bite down, it's a bit hard to explain!  During the day I have a constant dull ache, which I can cope with, but is getting me down, but I wake up after around 2 hours of sleep with the pain & I have been taking aspirin & now started on Nurofen, which both help, but I a, wondering if I have another problem that isn't dental, or if this is normal.  My dentist took some xrays & couldn't find anything wrong.  So he fitted me with an NTI splint, which hasn't helped.  Sorry for the photo!!  Oh by the way, there wasn't anything wrong with my wisdom tooth, he took it out as I had a bit of gum disease between the wisdom tooth & the one next to it, although I was shocked when I saw the roots!

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Post-op pain of upper wisdom tooth removal is rare. If you have liquid coming out from nose when you consume liquid, it suggests the presence of oroantral communication.
If there is no oroantral communication present, wound infection may be present. Systemic administration of antibiotics is generally effective. Bite may change after upper wisdom tooth removal, which may contribute to tmj associated symptoms. If tmj associated symptoms do'nt resolve in 6 weeks, seeing a tmj specialist is advised. NTI device may help relieve tmj associated symptoms. However, the therapeutic effect depends on operator's skill significantly.

Sorry to hear that you are still in pain.  The tooth looks whole, so at least its not part of the root tip causing the pain.  The only option I can think of for you is to check with an orofacial pain specialist dentist.  Good luck!
