Pain and bleeding in tip of tongue

Hi everyone, just today I noticed an odd, slightly painful feeling on the tip of my tongue as I was eating. Then when i touched the tip of my tongue with my finger there was some bleeding there. I have no recollection of ever biting it or injuring it, this pain just suddenly appeared. What could this be? Thanks!

If the lesion is caused by trauma, it generally heals up in 2 weeks. If it doesn't heal up in a reasonable time frame, seeing a dentist is advised.
