Pain from Crown Lengthening

I am one week post from crown legthening proceedure on tooth 31 was in horrible pain and went back to see surgeon, was told no infection and that I had "post op swelling" and was given a 6 day steriod pack and was told that I would have immediate relief.  I"m on day two of steriods and no relief maybe a little-I'm not in agony but I'm in pain.  The inside bottom of my cheek feels aggitated and sore.  I understand some pain is associated with this proceedure but this has been going on for over a week now.  Any suggestions, I'm leaving for Mexico in a week and I am also worried about flying like this.

Minimal amount of post-op pain is frequently encountered. However, it appears your post-op pain is more than expected. Antibiotics is probably helpful.

Are you feeling any better?  Did the steroids help?  I am two weeks out post CL on #18 and #19.  My pain has gotten worse each day and Endo said it is very unusual to be suffering so badly this far out from surgery so I am very interested in how you are coming along.  I need some hope myself.  I had my general dentist numb my whole left side yesterday to try and help calm the nerves and to help with the migraine all this caused.  I was unable to function the last two days.  All x-rays and gum tissue healing is reported fine so big mystery.  I think bone pain is much more severe than they report from this kind of procedure.  If I had to do it over again I wouldn't have!!!  Look forward to hearing from  you!
