Pain from Root Canal Tooth #3

I had a Root Canal a week ago.  It was done at 7am on Friday morning and I went to work afterward with zero pain except for a headache brought on by my TMJ.
The weekend passed with no pain and no issues.  However, Monday morning dawned and I was suddenly feeling a dull aching in my tooth and when I put any pressure on it it hurt.  In addition, when I drank something cold a very sharp pain would shoot through my tooth upward.  Today is Tuesday and I went to have the temp crown put in.  The dentist said the crown should take care of the pain but it still hurts to bite down.  Is this normal this soon after procedure?  If had been constant I wouldn't be concerned, however, it started several days later and i was not on any pain meds.

Seeing an endodontis to evaluate the offending tooth is advised.
