Pain in gums

I experience a pain near the cutter teeth i.e. towards the inside gum and later pain travels and my gums upper and lower pains very badly like a needle pricking.

I had visited the doc also and 3 sitting of clean up is done but they would not trace the reason for the same, can you let me know the reason why.

Is the cutter teeth the canine?  The long pointy tooth?  Did the doctor mention anything else about the tooth such as a cavity, crack, etc?  

Did they clean that particular tooth already?
