Pain in teeth and numbness

Pain in teeth and numbness

I had a lower wisdom tooth removed last Monday and have experienced the numbness in both my lower lip and my chin. This in itself is unpleasant and I'm terrified it will be permanent. However a few days ago I developed a tingling achey (achy) pain in my lower front teeth, even though they are numb to the touch. The pain is pretty relentless and I'm scared that this is going to be like this for a long time! Can anyone put my mind at rest? I can cope with the numb feelings but this new sensation is really horrible and it's all I can think of. My swelling has more or less gone down but I still have a hard lump around my jaw where the extraction occurred...any info would be greatly appreciated.

Early pharmacologic intervention may help resolve your problems. Seeing an orofacial pain specialist or neurologist is advised.
