Pain in teeth/cheek

Pain in teeth/cheek

Hi. I had 2 fillings and a temporary crown put in almost 2 weeks ago. I am unable to chew anything at all on my temporary crown due to it being extremely sensitive (they had to replace the first one because it had a hole in it). Therefore, I have to chew everything on the right side. I had a filling put in the lower back tooth on this side. A day or two after my visit, I began to have pain in that tooth, into my cheek and jawline. It usually ends up giving me a headache and sometimes an earache. I went back to the dentist and they adjusted my bite on that tooth because they said it was off. However, the pain is still there and I think getting worse. I can chew on that tooth but halfway through my meal, it begins hurting and sometimes throbbing and lasts for awhile. The dentist said the filling looked fine and the xrays looked fine. It is getting pretty bad. Do you have any thoughts on what may be causing this pain and/or what I can do to alleviate the pain? Thank you so much.

If your dentist can not adjust occlusion of new restoration optimally, you may need to see a prosthodontist .

Someone mentioned to me that it may be a bruised ligament from my bite being off. Do you think this could be possible?

Don,t understand what bruised ligament exactly refered to. Your problem is almost definitely from occlual interference introduced by new restorations. You need to see a competent dentist to solve your occlusal problem.
