Pain in the roof of the mouth

Pain in the roof of the mouth

About one week ago, I started having pain in the roof of my mouth, about halfway between my front teeth and my throat. There are no visible sores on my gums. Oddly enough, leaning forward brings on the pain as does coughing. I'm currently seeing an orthodontist and have a fixed wire on my upper and lower front teeth. I have never had pain in my gums or mouth before. I'm 22 years old, a non-smoker and in otherwise good health. Thanks.

It is possible that the discomfort is coming from the ortho treatment. If the orthodontist doesn't find anything then see your GP.
