Pain on inside of lip

About 10 days ago I was playing with my son and I hit my upper lip on the back of his head (he stood up as I bent down).  When we hit, I expected to have a bloody upper lip (on the inside where it hit me teeth).  Instead I had no blood just pain.  Now 10 days later it still hurts.  I can feel with my tongue where I hit and it hasn't seem to get any better.  Looking at it, the damaged area is about the width of a tooth and is pinkish/white in color.  I think it is like a scab or a bruise, but after 10 days it still hurts.  Any ideas?

It is possible that with the trauma you might have injured some very small mucous glands in your lip. I would see an oral surgeon if the discomfort does not abate in  a few days.
