Pareo Surgery

I just had surgery done which includes a bone graph on Thursday October 9, 2008 and to day is Sunday 12 and I have not stopped bleeding. Is normal/ Should I not worry? What do I need to do?

Bleeding is a serious complication of an extraction.  The most important thing to figure out though is how severe the bleeding is.

If you are seeing a little blood mixed in with your saliva, that is perfectly normal as the area heals.

What I would be concerned about is if you are getting quite a bit of bleeding such as a fresh cut wound that you can see.  If that is the case, your doctor should have given you some gauze and instructions on placing it on the extraction site and biting down to apply pressure on it like a band aid.  If this does not resolve an active bleeding site, then it is important for you to contact your dentist or go to the ER.

As I said, it is important to know how much bleeding you are getting.  Assuming that it is three days since the extraction, your bleeding is probably minor as I'm sure quite an extensive amount of bleeding would worry you enough to go to the ER or contact your dentist immediately.
